OpenText Fax 25.4

Introducing a range of improvements designed to simplify administration, strengthen security, and improve everyday usability across the platform.

Let’s take a look at what’s New in OpenText Fax 25.4

Web Application Improvements

The web interface has been refreshed with a cleaner layout and improved usability. Login troubleshooting is easier with the ability to reveal password fields, and the updated design helps simplify onboarding and daily use.

Administration & Routing Enhancements

Administrators gain additional flexibility with improvements to routing configuration, debugging options, and Web Admin tools. Destination tables can now be managed directly within Web Admin, helping simplify administration in larger environments.

FaxUtil & FaxUtil Web Updates

Updates to FaxUtil and FaxUtil Web improve visibility and auditing of fax activity.

Enhancements include:

  • Expanded fax history showing which user resent a fax
  • Improved performance when scrolling through large fax lists
  • Access to archived faxes through a web delivery link
  • Safeguards to help prevent duplicate transmissions

These changes help strengthen compliance reporting and reduce operational errors.

Integration Improvements

Expanded integration capabilities, including:

  • Outlook Add-in support for Microsoft 365 and on-prem Exchange
  • Integration with Salesforce for sending and receiving faxes directly within the platform

These integrations allow users to manage fax communication within the business applications they already use.

Reliability Improvements

Several updates improve system reliability and document handling, including:

  • Sentinel files that verify attachments before fax transmission
  • Secure HTTPS file transfers
  • Improved connector reliability for enterprise systems
  • Additional outbound fax options in the Email Gateway

These improvements help prevent incomplete transmissions and reduce failed fax jobs.

Security Enhancements

Security updates in this release include:

  • Updated TLS defaults
  • Support for AWS Secrets Manager
  • Enforced 12-character minimum password requirements
  • Support for AS-SIP

These updates help organisations maintain strong security standards and meet compliance requirements.

Deprecated Features

Some legacy components have been removed or are being phased out, including older runtime components and the Notes module. Organisations using Notes should plan to transition to the SMTP Gateway.

“What I have enjoyed about the Axient experience, aside from the sound technical support is the flexibility, availability & remote capability. This has helped Deloitte to plan & deploy any RightFax changes in the midst of very busy daily workloads & scheduled meetings. Without the above, we would not have been able to successfully complete the consolidation of AU & NZ RightFax Services. Kudos to Axient for their overall expertise & professionalism.”
